Protecting Property from Intruders

October 23, 2020 By Carol Scheafer

While traditional security measures like cameras and security guards provide some level of protection, they don’t offer around the clock monitoring. Trespassers and other criminals can easily hide from the limited view of security cameras and guards have to rest and cannot see behind their backs. Even with the most attentive guards, things can go wrong. Unfortunately, for celebrities and organizations with expensive property, one person can cause a lot of damage. It’s crucial that property owners implement an effective security solution.

Using LiDAR technology, property owners can rest assured that every part of their property is well protected. When integrated with alarms and security cameras, LiDAR provides a holistic view of the property. Through connection to the Internet, LiDAR systems locate and alert property owners of potential threats long before they cause a problem.

How it Works

Zones are set depending on the property owner’s needs and the type of property. Entering each zone sets off a different reaction. Typically, the first zone sits just outside the property line. When someone comes close to the property, the system begins actively following them. It also sends alerts to the property owner and security teams of a potential problem. Once alerted, security teams can view security camera footage to see whether they feel addition action is required.

If the trespasser comes closer to the property line, they set off another reaction. This zone might set off sirens or lights and dispatch security teams. Again, the system notifies the property owner of a potential problem. If the intruder still does not stop, they enter the final zone. At this point, the system goes into full action and notifies the authorities.

Although the zones and actions might look a little different for each property, the idea remains the same. The system ensures property owners understand the risk of intrusion. It notifies trespassers that they must leave the property. Most importantly, it notifies security teams that they must take action – all before the intruder reaches the property. Mint Controls’ LiDAR system improves security and ensures nothing gets missed.
