Propane, Butane and Methane Sensors and the IoT

Propane, Butane and Methane Sensors and the IoT

From air quality to equipment performance, sensors make it possible to monitor just about anything. These tiny devices improve our lives and allow us to spot problems in a variety of situations. Our Propane, Butane and Methane sensors can be used to detect a wide range of combustible gases including LPG/Propane, Butane, Methane, Hydrogen and Alcohol.

Smart Sensors Detect Even Small Quantities of Gas

These sensors work best at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a humidity of 65%. The sensor is equipped with an internal preheater to help it achieve the ideal conditions. The sensor is able to detect gases in relatively low quantities. LPG/Propane is detected at 200-500 parts per million (ppm), Butane at 300-500 ppm and Methane at 5,000 to 20,000 ppm.

Our sensors are integrated with IoT technology to allow for quick and easy detection and reporting of problems.

Butane, Methane and Propane Use

Butane, Methane and Propane are used in a number of applications in both homes and businesses. If not properly monitored and maintained, these gasses can lead to hazardous situations including explosions, fire and poisoning. Employers have the responsibility to protect their workers from risk.

Our Solution

Our system uses inexpensive Raspberry Pi devices to communicate with sensors. IoT integration ties multiple systems together to improve safety and resolve regulation issues. When a problem is detected, our system can be programmed to trigger the fire suppression system, unlock magnetic doors, notify the fire department of a problem and record data about the incident. This puts you in the best possible position to mitigate risk.

Our system is unlike anything else available today. It provides the information and technology necessary to resolve regulation issues and prove you’re not a liability. No other solution ties more systems together or works more effectively.
