Monitoring Employee Activities

October 19, 2018 By mcadmin

A company’s success is often dependent on the participation and dedication of its employees. When employees don’t accomplish what they’re supposed to, profits and reputation can suffer.

Unfortunately, it can be extremely difficult to track employee activities, especially in large facilities with multiple employees. This becomes even more challenging when faced with tight budgets and multiple responsibilities. Management often has too many other things to think about. The last thing on their mind is what their employees are up to. However, this can have a devastating effect on the company’s bottom line.

RFID Enabled Employee ID Cards

RFID provides an accurate, reliable method for tracking employees as they move through the workplace. RFID tags are embedded in identification cards, which are carried by employees at all times. These RFID-enabled cards are encoded with specific information about the employee such as name, department, employee number, and responsibilities.

RFID readers are discreetly installed throughout the facility. They might be added to ceiling tiles, or installed in the floor. These readers collect and transmit information about each employee’s location. The information collected by the readers is sent to a centralized database in regular intervals throughout the day.

Management can quickly locate where employees are, and how long they spend in each location. This makes it possible to locate staff members that are not doing what they’re supposed to.

This solution works extremely well in factories and manufacturing plants, where production lines cannot complete the production process without a set number of employees present. Strategically placed RFID readers track the time each staff member enters and leaves each production line. This helps locate the cause of holdups and ensures that production continues as planned.

Improve Visibility With RFID and LIDAR Technology

RFID can be combined with surveillance cameras equipped with LIDAR technology to provide a 3D view of activities in the workplace. This enables safety hazards and other issues to be spotted immediately. This solution provides management with a complete view of every employee.

Mint Controls offers a number of features and options as part of this solution. We work directly with every company we work with to develop the most comprehensive solution for their needs.
