Largest Increase in Heavy-Duty Truck Orders in Almost Twelve Years
Last month, heavy-duty truck orders hit their highest monthly rate since 2006. The increase in orders is due to a growing supply-demand imbalance and tight capacity caused by stringent food transport compliance standards and the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate.
47,200 new orders were placed in January of this year. This number is 28% higher than in December and 116% higher than in January of last year. More and more trucking companies are taking advantage of the opportunity to expand their fleets.
