Estate Security

July 24, 2020 By Carol Scheafer

Large properties with lots of land often find it difficult to monitor their property for potential intruders. Unfortunately, without proper monitoring, trespassers can put property owners, their family, and property at risk. It’s crucial that estate owners ensure the continuous and uninterrupted protection of both property and people.

In order to ensure adequate protection, property owners must monitor their perimeter 24/7/365. However, even with live security guards and security cameras, intruders can still get in. It’s not hard to escape the limited view of standard security cameras, and security guards must rest and they cannot see behind them. Another issue, many estate owners rely on fences and walls to keep people out. It’s not uncommon for trespassers to cut or climb fences, or even use a ladder to scale a tall exterior wall. Without a way to detect people coming close to the perimeter, property owners may never know about potential threats until it’s too late.

LiDAR Security Solutions

Mint Controls understands the challenges property owners face when it comes to keeping people out. We work directly with our clients to fully evaluate and analyze their needs. This helps us develop a comprehensive solution. Our team has years of experience keeping people and property safe and offers a number of features and options.

Mint Controls uses LiDAR to help detect potential intruders as they come close to the perimeter. The rule-based system allows us to set-up zones. Each zone sets off a different reaction as pre-determined by Mint Controls and the property owner. For example, when someone comes within 20 feet of the property line, the system can trigger security cameras to closely monitor the individual and capture images that could be used later to identify them. When they come within 10 feet of the perimeter, the system can send an alert to security staff. At five feet, the system can trigger sirens and lights. This is only one example. Every property owner will have their own requirements. This is why we perform a thorough site analysis prior to implementation.
