Medication & Drug Monitoring Solutions
Medication Monitoring enables healthcare organizations to proactively detect temperature excursions and to efficiently manage compliance logging and incident management workflows.
Compliance and Quality-Driven Medication Monitoring
Pharmacy retail stores, hospitals, and biotechnology laboratories are responsible for protecting medications, ointments, tablets, liquids, injectables, pills, and more from temperature and humidity damage. Damage can occur during any phase of the cold chain and stems from a variety of HVAC, quality control, and/or compliance lapses. The responsibility and pressure falls on quality assurance and quality managers to routinely monitor all medications for temperature and humidity excursions at each respective location, especially during transit and for long-term drug storage.
For example, Immunosuppressants such as Humira can have different storage requirements (2-8°C) to maintain potency than does a chickenpox vaccine such as Varivax (-15°C). In both cases, and with nearly all other medications, the CDC and FDA recommend around-the-clock monitoring at a 15 minute interval, wire free systems, automated reports for regulators and inspectors, along with NIST calibrated sensors.
